It is an honor to celebrate 20 years of delivering business services and community economic development support to the Thompson Country region, from Kamloops to Blue River and to Chase and Westwold.
Since 1987 CFTC has been privileged to receive assistance from hundreds of volunteers, including Board members, Committee participants and everyone who stepped forward to work on specific community projects. In the past five years, volunteers have contributed in excess of 12,700 hours to CFTC's activities and projects - this represents a monetary value of more than $ 190,000.
CFTC has been privileged to work with all levels of government, especially the Goverment of Canada through the Department of Western Economic Diversification (WD) since Community Futures Porgram was transferred from HRSDC in 2001, and Service Canada.
As a community driven, volunteer not-for-profit society CFTC is proud to participate in the sustainability and growth of the Thompson Country Region, where we serve a population of 98,000 people over an area of 26,000 square kilometers in size.
In 2008 CFTC prepared the 20th Anniversary Community Report which showcases but a few of CFTC's successful clients and communities they call home. CFTC looks forward to continuing this important work over the decades to come.
