Lila Dyer As a member of the Local Advisory Committee of Human Resources Skills Development Canada. Lila became a Director of the CFTC organization in 1987. In recognition of her log-term interest and dedication, when she retired from the Board CFTC awarded her its first Lifetime Honorary Membership in 2001. A Kamloops resident since the age of two, Lila was named a Freeman of the City of Kamloops in 1994. In addition to volunteer activities with numerous organizations, she also owned and operated Wodlinger's in the 200 Block, Victoria Street for a number of years before retiring from the business in 1990. Lila and her late husband Murray were instrumental in establishing the loan cupboard for the local Canadian Red Cross which allows citizens to borrow medical equipment and aids on a short-term basis.
Al Perry Listed as a founding member of the Board of Directors on the Certificate of Incorporation dated February 1988, Al received CFTC’s second lifetime Honorary Membership in 2006. All represented the Chase region and held that position until his move to Kamloops in recent years. Always community minded, Al and Megan owned and operated Perry’s Place, a grocery store in Chase, for many years. Al was a member of the Chase and District Chamber of Commerce. He was one of the leaders who wanted to build a new recreation facility in Chase. To help raise the necessary funds, Al convinced Community Futures to purchase one of the $ 1,000 community debentures in 1990. The Chase Recreation Centre opened in November, 2000.
